Okay people, I finally did it. For the first time 30 years, I WENT CAMPING. Well actually WE went camping but John and the kids went last year too.

We had a blast. It poured with rain while setting up and we coped a storm on the last night but otherwise the weather was great. Inskip Point is beautiful. Mile upon mile of golden beaches, amazingly warm seas and an abundance of shaddy trees to camp under. It was a very relaxing week, lots of time to read, long beach walks & camp fires.

Christmas

Well that time of the year has rolled around again. The kids are all finished school and John only has three days to go. The tree is up and the stockings hung. We tried to get out of putting up the advent this year but the children mutinied. I was hoping to have the cards all in the post by now but having been far to busy stuffing around. Will do them tonight I think.
We are off camping for five days, next week.It's forcast to rain so it could be a complete disaster but we've already paid for the site so we're going anyway.
Christmas day will be just us this year, for the first time ever. We usually spend time with Michelle but she is busy with her partner and work. Not sure what we'll do yet but I make sure it's fabulous - I love christmas. The kids are trying to talk me into make a seven layer cake, called Seven Brides, from the semi finals of last years Master Chef. I might give it a try.
No other news for now - have a great week everybody. I'll post again when I get back from camping.

What's Up

This week has been one of mixed emotions.

For John it has been tedious as he counts down the days 'till school finishes for the year. On the plus side all his report cards have been done, on the down side the children have very little work left for the year to keep them busy.

Tiffani has been in end of year assessment mode with test, exams and assignments due. She studies less than she ought but still churns out plenty of A's so I guess I can't complain ( I do complain though - it seems extremely unfair that she gets good grades with very little effort, when I was in school I worked like a dog and still sucked).

Isaac is bored, he has finished for the year but his friend Josh hasn't. He has played and replayed his many computer and Play Station games and clock watches until Josh gets home from school. He spent the last week building a really cool robotic mouse from a kit I bought him. It functions in part. We have to pull it apart to realign the wheels because it goes in circles at the moment (at least it goes)

Joel is mega bored. He is also finished and nagging me to cook with him and do craft. We are going to start baking Christmas gifts tomorrow for friends at church. Should be fun and probably more than a little frustrating for me.

I have been reading when I can, I started a book club a few months ago and it has taken off really well. We have our next get together on Tuesday so I'm trying to finish 'Chocolat' a wonderful book by Joanne Harris. I was saddened by the mining tragedy at Pike Creek but relieved none of my brothers were involved. Work is going well and I am trudging slowly through my TAFE course, hope to be finished by January.
